Default Two Cooper Tires?

Still looking for new tires for my DD. Like some input on two different Cooper tires. One is the discoverer STT LT, and the other is the Cooper Zeon LTZ. I'm looking at 285/70/17's, and I know they are very different. I put on about 20,000 miles a year.

Thanks!

I had Cooper STT on my TJ. They are the best tire I have used. Last me over 2 years and still had plenty of tread I just ended up selling the Jeep. Excellent traction in snow, ice and rain. I had people commenting on them as looking brand new after 2 years of dd use. I highly recommend them and will be purchasing some myself soon.

I'm running the Discoverer STT MAXX and am very happy with them. They've proved to have great traction in rain and snow. Very quiet compared to the OEM M/T tires. I've had them rock crawling a few times and they performed well when aired down. (ran them at 18 psi). I've had them on the beach and they did well also. The two things I have noticed on the down side is they are heavy (this is because they are triple wall, which is good for off road though) and they are an 'E' rated tire so you have to run them pretty low to get a good ride and even wear. I'm in a JKUR with a rolling weight of 4960 lbs and I run the tires at 28psi for DD.

Will I purchase them again... absolutely. Best all-around tire I've owned to date.

Comparing those two tires would be like comparing apples to oranges. 20k a year is a good amount in my book, so the LTZ's might be a better option for you.

With that being said we did just install a set of STT's on one of our vehicles and so far they seem like a great tire especially when you get away from the pavement.

Have you checked out the Cooper Discoverer AT3's? Personally know many people who love this tire on their daily driven rigs.

Ive had 6 sets of STTs and 1 set of AT3s. I will never use anything again but STTs. Perform like they say above, great sidewall tread, last easy 60,000 miles, very quiet. ONLY downside is they are a little heavy, but for that you get a strong tire.
