And its 200up, but like 350-400 tq. The tq matters in towing which generally has trouble starting out. Hence why all large trucks rub diesel engines, with 300hp and 1000+ tq.

Ok the gm 12bolt has an 8.5 in ring gear so that's doesn't factor in. My truck as about same wheel base as my jku when I park next to is the width is nearly identical and old smalls blocks were not close to 300-400 ft lb tq. That's big block numbers. Factory small blocks were mid to upper 2's depending on year. Shit modern small block make twice the power and tq and theu just got to 300-400 tq. And for the large trucks. My bros old 12 valve cummins could tow 16-17k all day and it had around 400 tq stock. 3 years ago the big boys had 600. Dodge currently holds the crown with 850 but its all just braggin rights.

There are other things to consider. Axle strength/loading. Tire rating (c,d,e) tire psi, etc. Point is a lot of engineering goes into tow limits, and though we don't know the reason, if jeep could sell a jk labelled to pull 7k lbs I can't see why they wouldn't do it.

Nice boat!

I pulled a 24ft Calabria which is not a light boat by any means. Forced induction free with large auto trans cooler and teraflex big brake kit. It wasn't gonna win any races but never pushed the jeep around. The FI will def be apart of next jeep i get!

Nice boat!
Like I said our axles are bigger and stronger and my jku has e rated so yep. Ohh and europe is 4500 lbs and we are 3500. Like ford said about 1/2 tons is that they under rate cause they know ppl two well over limits. Anyways sorry about sidetracked thread you jeep is awesome and as long as you feel comfortable towing it and its not pushing you around do it.

Funny- uhaul doesn't rent ANY type of trailer to a jeep with the soft top.. I know cause I've tried more than once.. At different locations even. I ended up using my dads truck to pick up the trailer then swapped it to my jeep a few blocks away from the uhaul office.

Very cool mod though, wish I had a turbo
