True size of Mickey Thompson MTZ 315/70-17
So the Mickey Thomson website says these tires should measure out to approximately 34.6" in height. I get them onto my 17x8 steelies and program my JK with my superchips for 35" tires, not bothering to measure 'cause I'm lazy like that. So the spedo reads a full 5mph higher than my gps at 60mph. Simple math tells me that puts my tires at closer to 33". I grudgingly measured them, and sure enough, 33.25. I have the pressure right at 35psi.
What are others seeing for the height of their alleged 35" MTZ's? I know they run a little smaller, and I can deal with that, but a full 2" inches less?
Perhaps their measurements are based on a much higher inflation level? Which leads into the next question, what psi do you guys run your MTZ's at. I gotta tell you, at 35psi the ride is nice.
TIA

Sorry, I know this thread is a bit old but wanted to see if anyone had any more input? My first choice tire (GY MTR) is out of stock everywhere. The MTZ is my second choice but this post alarmed me. Would be pretty upset if it measured just 1" more than my 32"s.
I am planning on mounting these on the stock 17x7.5 rims. Does anyone have any measurements mounted on that rim? I think it should measure a bit larger when mounted on a 7.5" rim than like the op's 9" rim?
Thanks.

seems we have a lot of threads about this. The consensus seems to be that the aired up measurements are without the weight of a jeep and any additional armour you may have on there. And thanks for reminding me, I need to update that I only have 8" wide rims. Not sure why I had 9" on my brain.

taken the day I put on the lift and tires. 3.25" Rusty's which really came out closer to 4" and I do love these tires. But thinking I have to go to the 37's so I can get 35's

I don't wheel on rocks, mostly muddy trails and there is still plenty of tread left after 2 years.

Damn have 33" ATZ's on now ... Next week getting my 35" MTZ's installed.... I have a 3" lift on my JK,..., I better notice a difference in tire height!!
WILL I ????
Now I'm kinda worried...... Maybe should have gone 37"
