we often run with ours rolled back to the rear sport bar and the rear window removed. It stays in place pretty nicely and gives close to the "top down" feel without dismanteling the entire thing.
This pic here we don't have the top rolled all the way back (we had caterpillars raining down from the trees on us), but it gives you the general idea....

Go back and read my (and the other) posts on this thread. They clearly state how and what you can do. You certainly can do what you describe and that's whether you have an older model or a newer one. I have both.

Thanks all, I just pulled the trigger this morning. Bought it locally for 669. Dont have to pay shipping and it will be here tomorrow. I prob could have paid cheaper onine, but i'd be waiting a week or more!

669 was for the 4 door. All hardware including back windshield bar (which Is what comes standard now). Shipping and tax on quadratec was 683.58. I spent just a little more and supported a local business, and got it the next day...Wasn't too bad.

Umm...that is very high. I only paid $575 shipped and it only took 3 days to get here (I am only a stones throw from you).
