Trektop NX
Looking at getting a soft top. Was debating between a used factory top from a 2007 ($500) or a brand new Trektop NX ($650). Any pros /cons i should know about ? I've already had a stock top before but like the idea of the trektop for the bikini style aspect. On a 2 dr if that makes any difference.

Went for the Trektop NX. Installed it yesterday. Big mistake. Wasn't hot or sunny enough and couldn't stretch it to fit properly.
Announced rain last night so i covered it with a tarp and waiting for Sunday to finish. 2 days not being able to drive it
But it looks awesome! I love the slant back look. I'll post some picks once is done.
I do have to say however, zipping the windows up is a lot more effort than a stock soft top. Hope i don't regret it.

I helped a buddy put a Trek Top NX on his 4 door and it was very tough getting everything to line up on a cool day in Colorado Springs. But once it stretched out a bit it was easy as a stock top

$500 for a used 2007 top seems a bit pricey. I thought I saw prices cheaper than that from people with the 2 top option that really only wanted a hard top. Just my opinion. Also take into account if that 2007 top has the new header. I myself have the NX and love it. Instal went fine as long as you do it in the temperature range that they say in the manual and let the top sit in the sun while you're mounting all the other hardware.

Read a tip once that said you could just start the Jeep and run the heater to help warm things up enough on a cool day. I have not done that but it seemed like it might work. I have it in my hip pocket as they say for a day I might need to use it.
