I never said there was an effect on output, simply stating that the fan whines/whistles with the everything buttoned up... stock. It goes away when I crack the window.

Gotcha, yeah I noticed a large output restriction with this kit. I like it though it looks super nice.

Retro Jeep logo Delete Plate
I just installed my custom plate this weekend and color matched it with Duplicolor rattle can paint. It came out amazing. Behind the openings i attached screen that i painted also to keep debris from getting into the gate. So that you couldn't see where the actual vent opening stopped, I sprayed some black plastidip behind the openings so i had a solid stripe of color. I got the plate from ebay and worked with the seller to get what I wanted cut out of the plate. madryan2000 on eBay
