Trailer Wiring Info Needed
I'm looking to install a 4 wire flat trailer harness and was wondering the exact coloring codes.
Originally, I wanted to purchase the plug-in, Mopar harness but nobody around me stocks it and I'll need to finish the job quickly. Therefore, I purchased the standard flat 4 wire harness. Colorwise, I noticed there is not a 1-to-1 color match up for the rear tailights. I noticed going into the stop/turn bulb, there were two wires. The left had two white wires, one with a yellow stripe, and the other was purple striped. The right also had those same two. However, on the vehicle harness side, those same two wires had different colors. One being, white with orange and white with green. The other had white with yellow and I believe white with grey.
I used a voltage meter and checked which were turn, which were running/brake, and have an idea. I just wanted to get confirmation before finally splicing in the harness. Any help is greatly appreciated.
Thanks

Drivers side taillamp
In the harness behind the driver's light you will find a molex connector, usually grey or black, this connector goes to the LH and RH tail lights. Check your wires there, that way you don't have to go to both sides.

4 plug harness
get the harness from Jeep. Plug and play. Others will cause electrial issues. Not sure why but caused my 06 to flash lights when the head lights and radio was on at the same time. Went to jeep got the harness. Pluged it in and no flashing lights. Something to do with the ohms at the rear lights. At least thats what I was told by the shop.
cost about 40 for the 4 plug and 80 for the 7 plug. Running both now and can pull everything from the yard trailer, boat or camper. Just me 2 cents.
