Question trailer hitch

Hello All,

I was wondering how long it takes to install a factory trailer hitch on a 2007 sahara?

Thanks to all who reply,

About 30 minutes to an hour if you take off the bumper first. There is also a little weld that stick out on the frame. This will cause problems if you don't smooth it out first with a file or grinder.

Are you serious?? It took me 5 minutes...it bolted right in just like the tow hook. Maybe another 5 minutes to plug in the wiring harness and route it down to the hitch.

My 08 took 15 min with the bumper on and I didn't have any weld problem. That's just my experience.

Yeah, I didn't remove the bumper at first and had a problem lining up the holes due to the little bead of weld sticking out on the frame. After I removed the bumper and filed the weld down It took a bout 5 minutes then I had to reassemble the bumper. I messed around with the little weld thing for a long time before finally getting it knocked off. I guess I'm just stubborn.

That is ridiculous!! There are 4 bolts I believe...no holes to drill, just hold it in place and insert the bolts.....unless you run into a problem like Robar did, but even still..I wouldn't pay for 3 hours labor.
