So installing the Teraflex 2.5 budget boost on a ''13 Rubicon today. The rear trackbar drop bracket supplied didn't come with all of the hardware needed for the install. All I have is the bolt and sleeve but no nut for that bolt. Also short bolt, nut and washer to mount to the frame is missing. So, I decided to continue without the drop bracket and after everything is put back together, the trackbar is mounted in its original location, but it's a little short of being able to complete the install (see pic).

So my question is this...can I back the jeep out of the garage without the trackbar attached? I've got to get on the motorcycle to get to the hardware store to complete this. Or is it safe to drive a few miles without the trackbar attached? Definitely don't want to mess anything up with what should be a relatively simple install.

BAD idea. If you try to drive the jeep without the track bar attached you can seriously damage your suspension components. Very unsafe.

That's what I thought. Any ideas on how to get that extra 1/4 inch or so to get the trackbar reinstalled in its original location without the drop bracket? I can install that part as soon as I get the hardware.

You can have someone turn the steering wheel some and it will shift the jeep allowing you to install all in its factory location. Then get what you need and finish.

A ratchet strap, or have someone else push the bumper/frame in the right direction, or stick a beefy screwdriver or something in the hole.

Done it with ratchets straps or by jacking one side of axle up or turning steering wheel. They all work

If that bracket is for the frame side I wouldn't use it. It puts extra stress on the mount. Go with an axle side bracket that raises the mount.

The frame side bracket will be fine for now it's just a matter of preference. If you intend on wheeling hard you can change it out later. Use a ratchet strap to line it up and get the bolt in till you get the parts.
