Track bar holes causing DW? please help
Okay so I've been trying to figure out the cause of my DW for a few days now, dealership told me it was my steering stabilizer (fu*king idiots). Anyways, I have been over everything, and this morning removed my track bar and noticed that the mounting bolts, when put through the mouthing holes, there is a little bit of play. Does this mean they are wallowed out?? how much play should there be, or should the bolts be tight and snug when put through the holes? And if they are wallowed out, what to do to fix???
Please help, I was supposed to be in Baton Rouge last week but I'm terrified to get back on the interstate so I HAVE to get this resoved ASAP!

If it isn't too bad, make sure that they are torqued to 125-130lbs and test drive it.

well theres not much play when i put the bolt through the hole closest to the front of the jeep, but the hole on the back (the nut side) that hole has a good bit of play in it. I wish i had payed more attention to this back when i first installed my new track bar, but I cant seem to find anything else to be the casue.

You found the problem. So the holes in the track bar mounts are oblong or out of round. This happened to mine and I had to have the lower mount bracket replaced.
Off Road Evolution did the work. If your upper mount is bad replace it too.
I'm hoping you the dropped track bar bracket.
Good luck

There can a lot of lot of load placed on the trackbar mounts, so there shouldn't be any play when the track bar is attached and torqued.
A good off road shop like Evolution would be my first choice, but if the dealer does it they will be on the hook for any problems that could arise and warranty claims should be less questionable.

both on the axle end and frame end. i mean, theres no play when they are torqued down to 125, but when i removed the track bar and places the bolts back throught the holes (without tigthening) there was substantial play, mostly the hole on the nut side.

Good the axle is easier to fix, but both can be done
You need to have a shop fab up a new track bar mount for the axle.
You might be able to buy one from Off Road Evolution.
But I'm not sure ifthey're making them yet.
Or find a good weld shop drive your JK in and show them the old mount so they see what they need to fab.

So I was telling my mom about what I found this morning and that I needed to find somewhere to weld on some new mounts, and for some stupid reason, she decided to call the dealership (that has already proven to me to not know what the hell they are talking about, told me my SS was causing the DW) anyways, I just wanted to share what he said. He told her that if my holes are wallowed out, I need to come let them install a new track bar. Seriously?? Their solution to the holes being wallowed out is a new track bar? I don't see how that could possible fix anything. Could my JKS track bar have caused this. I know I have read a few people who claimed there JKS track bar was the problem, but this thing is beefy and I don't see how it could be the culprit.
