Default TPMS "Fix" ?

AEV ProCal, set pressure sensor to zero pounds.

Pull sensors from stock wheels, leave in a zip lock baggie in the glovebox.

Mount aftermarket wheels/tires - no TPMS required.

Will this work?

Yep. A lot of people just sell the sensors instead of trying to remember where they put that baggie...

Excellent. I was thinking the computer needed to receive a signal from them even if it was set to zero. Not needing them at all when set at zero is even better.

The computer is smarter than you think. In hindsight, I was working on my Jeep one day on the car lift, with engine off, and had to lower the air pressure in my tires to complete the suspension work I was doing. Then I aired my tires backup, cranked up, and pulled off car lift. TPMS had already gone off even though the Jeep was never started with the air pressure being too low. So even with an AEV fix, you need to reset the TPMS setting, then remove the sensors, and that will avoid the air coming on.

Superchips won't lower to zero like the AEV. I have the Superchip and was disappointed to find out it only lowers it to 24 psi.

Yeah, I thought it was pretty gay too. Unless that person knows something I don't but I went to the tire pressure menu and moved the little slide bar all the way to the left and it stopped at 24 and WTF? came out of my mouth.

Really? That seems pretty, well, f*#@ed up.

I've never heard that before. Glad I got the ProCal, if that's the case.

Who airs down to 24?

Look again. TPMS disable is a separate download. Be sure to click the 'I Agree' box. They probably did it this way for liability reasons, so they have proof that you are choosing to bypass the tpms.

Where exactly are the sensors? In the valve stem or a separate unit attached inside the wheel. I've heard of guys taking all 5 and putting them in the spare. If this actually works, I may do this tonight when mounting my new tires. If it's the valve stem, I can't see how putting them in the spare would read the pressure correctly. Any info?
