TPMS and 1.5" wheel spacers???
Hey I am sure this has been discussed but I can't find it. Finally got my old JK replaced by DC with a new '08. I am gonna put my Spidertrax 1.5" spacers back on. The new JK has the TPMS. Is there anything special I have to do or do I just slap the spacers back on with no problems.
TIA

Yeah '08 4dr Sahara black w/ black soft top 4X4 LSD tow package mygig. I love it. I am glad that DC finally finally did something about my problem. I have to give Mr. Mark Hebert at Hebert's Town and country a pat on the back for helping me out. I bugged the shit out of him these past 5 months but they finally made it right.
Got another question: With the tow package do they put different springs in the rear end that would make the rear sit up higher? When I got it yesterday it looked like it had a lift put on it. I crawled underneath to double check but no lift.

hmmm...
I know this thread is OLD, but I'm interested in knowing this too. I have 1.5" spidertraxx on my 2010, and ever since then, my TPMS light is constantly on. I've checked pressure, everything's fine. Any ideas?

I have the stock Moab wheels and SpiderTrax 1.5" spacers. The TPMS works for me without problems. One day the light came on, and I had a leaking tire. I put air into the tire and the light went off.
Maybe a different rim with less backspacing would move the rim sensor too far away, or maybe a older sensor with a weaker battery might cause the signal not to be picked up. But I haven't had those problems (yet).

i run 2" spacers with stock rims for now and am putting on my rugged ridge rims which i believe are 4.5" backspace in the fall. i think i might follw Karls10JK lead and keep the spacers on as well...i like the wide look too!!!
As far as the TPMS goes ..the only time mine goes off is in really cold weather when the tire pressure drops below 35psi...i wish there was a "steering wheel dance" i could do to shut this damn thing off and get rid of the whole monitering system all together.... i mean really, how hard is it to do regular maintenabce and check your tire pressure "old school" way on a regular basis.
Jeep really needs to offer a model that is more basic and rugged without all of b.s stuff!

The spacers should have no affect on the system. TPMS is just another attempt by the government to fix stupid. If a person is too stupid to look at their tires, they are too stupid to pay attention to a warning light.

My TPMS light is always due to me running below chryslers recommended psi. I also have 1.5" Spidertrax spacers and theses did not set off the TPMS when I was running at a higher psi.....
