Default Towing Capacity Question

I have a 2007 4-door Wrangler, manual transmission with a 3" suspension lift. Am I still good to tow a 2000lb pop camper or does the lift mess things up?
Thanks

What gears? Friend of mine towed my 2000-2500 lb boat/trailer 650 miles to me with his 2007 with 3" TF lift, 35's and 3.21 manual.

Do you have a tire size other than stock? And are your axles still stock?

Do you have 3.21 or 4.10 gears?
3.21 = 1000 lbs. tow rating.

I wouldn't say the lift messes things up for you, but it should make you a lot more careful, especially when towing.

Stock gears, but that could be 3.21 or 4.10.

It will be more gutless than normal. 2k behind a 4door, even with stock gearing, shouldn't be a problem. (w/ a tranny cooler for the autos, of course)

I wonder if that 1,000 lb limit on 3.21's is just because they don't have the tow package? So assuming he has a class 2 or better hitch and wiring and all, should be good to go?

The 1000 lb tow rating has to assume a tow package because it's giving a rating for towing. Can't tow without a tow package, which is just a hitch and wiring on the early models.

Yeah, I was thinking about people with other bumpers just slapping a ball into the hole in the bumper, or a JK slapping a class 1 hitch on, rather than using a beefier frame mount.

I just can't see a 2500 lb difference simply because you have 3.21 vs 3.73.

I pull a fully loaded pop up all summer long and have for the last 4 years. I average about 2500 lbs and I have a 4 dr Rubi with 4.10's, 35" Toyos and a 2.5" lift. No issues what so ever!
