Has anyone installed bolt-on tow brackets on a replacement bumper for the JK to permit towing by another vehicle such as a motor home? I know that tow base plates are available for the JK, but (1) they are very expensive ($528.95+$600 installation at General RV), (2) they hang down below the bumper where they can catch on obstacles, (3) may not work with the Rubicon model, and (4) the Blue Ox type attachment is incompatible with the Reese style attachment used by most four wheelers. If you have, please let me know what bumper and what your installation looks like. For the cost of the base plate, I can buy a rock bumper and brackets and still have money left over to put toward a winch.
