TJ wheels on a JK
Hi all,
I'm looking at doing something like the pic below, with the same type wheels. I found many sets of 5 for sale on craigslist for less than $200. Obviously from the pic it can be done, but I'm curious if any mods need to be done to the wheels to run 35X12.50? The ones on craiglist were the basic TJ 15X7
Thanks!
Derek

Yes,
If its from a stock TJ setup,
They have a 5 X 4.5" pattern
LJ has 5x5" pattern.
****************EDIT***************
The above is suppose to read " the JK has a 5X5 pattern

The TJ and LJ had 5 x 4.5 with a 5" backspace, you would need spacers, and this would bring them out more. The wheels in that picture are 16" wheels from a 2wd ram truck which is 5x5.5 and that jeep has bigger axles, 60's I believe, thus it having the bigger bolt pattern. If you look hard you can find a chart for wheel bolt patterns and bs. The 5x5 pattern isnt jeep only but is a little uncommon.
Both the 2dr JK and 4dr JK have 5x5, and the GC certain years.

clear a wider tire and switch up your bolt pattern in one shot.

Thanks guys for the info. By the time I would buy spacers and such it may be more cost effective just to get some wheels from a place like Stockton. I really like the utilitarian look of the plain steelies, I think it is a nice change from the chromed mall hoppers around here. WHEN, I do get them on I will post pics, but the Jeep has to get here first!!!

Chevy 1/2ton van's from the 80's had the bolt pattern with about a 4" backspace,, They had a rally version. Check a local junk yard and try one to see if it clears the calipers.. Also the caprise police cars I believe had the same pattern and had a 16x8? wheel.. Also similar to the one on the j8..
You can usually get them on ebay for $40 a pair..
