Tires, Wheels and Gearing ?'s
First since I bought my JK back in December I have been on this forum everyday, reading and learning and must say the wealth of knowledge and advice is amazing.
I have a few questions and searched for the answers but have either not found them or overlooked them, if so, I apologize for the repeats.
-I really like the Pro Comp 8128's and want to get the 17x8.5. Everything I have found in that size is that the only backspazing is 4.75 and everything I have read says 4.5 backspacing is perfect. Will these with 4.75 work worry free and no rubbing issues or will I need to get spacers or any other mod? I am planning a 3" lift and run 35's but till then will be running stock 32" Rubi tires and stock suspension.
-Next, I went from 16" stock Steelies with 225 stock tires to getting some used stock 17" Ruci Wheels with Stock Rubi Tires I got froom Leonard Massi on this Forum. I really do like the New Look and ride. My Jk came with 4.10 gearing, with that said when I went to the Rubi Wheels/Tires it feels like my JK actually got a bit quicker and shifts smoother and also seems I am getting better gas Mileage. Could this be the case, because of the new tire size and gearing that came with my JK just being a better ratio?
- Also, once I jump to 35's will I lose that quickness, smoothness and gas mileage? If so What gearing ratio would be optimal so my JK feels the same as it does now.? 4.56, 4.88, 5.13?
I have a 2007 4dr with a 6spd, and 4.10 right now...
Thanks so much. Again apologize if this has been covered elsewhere and I overlooked it.
Here is a pic with used Rubi Wheels i got. Still LOTS to do to her....

4.88's with your stick. Automatics like 5.13's better. Unless of course 37's are in the your future; then you may want to consider 5.13's (and 5.38's for the auto).

Thanks. 4.88's sound like what I will eventually do. Probably down the road when all else is done and money is there.
I know I know--too flashy with the chrome. Baby steps-still in the building process.
Still not sure about the 4.75 backspacing? Will they be ok with a 3" LIFT or will I need other mods or spacers? Want to purchase some wheels this week more than likely and 4wd.com has the 8128's on sale for only a couple more weeks. Or does anyone know where I may be able to get them cheaper?
Thanks again..

Are you sure it has 4.10s in it? In 2007 the auto and the Rubicon came with 4.10 but not the stick unless you got some towing package or something I think. I guess someone/you may have installed them too. I dunno. I bet a regear would make you happy either way. I am getting 5.13s today!!!

2007 2dr 6speed X 4.10 were an option mine came with 4.10s. 4.88 for auto and 5.13 for stick? Bull s__t! If you have the 2.72 transfer case you want the 5.13 that gives you a crawl ratio of 62.23:1 with the 5.13 that gets you really close to the stock rubi crawl ratio of 74.97:1 don't wast your money on the 4.88 do it right the first time you will be happy with the power on and off road, and yes I have the 5.13 and 35" and the 6speed and mine is a daily driver and I have no complants about the on or off road power

thanks for the correction, I didnt know they were in the stick. That is cool... I bet they are much better with the 35s than my auto with 4.10s amd 35s was!!! I got my 5.13s today. On one hand it almost seems pointless to go from 4.10 to 4.88, but when i saw the size of my pinion on that 5.13 I thought I may have made the wrong choice. I hope they hold up! Riding home in overdrive was nice tonight.
