It's one reason you see tractors that do the plowing of fields (the hard labor of tractor work, if you will) with multiple tall skinny tires as opposed to huge float tires like you see on 3 wheeled crop spray rigs. Floating doesn't equal traction. Skinny tires drive nicer on the road, they're less susceptible to tracking and they cut through snow better for the same reasons above. Not to mention heavy rain driving and hydro plaining. Plus they are lighter, obviously, which means less wear and tear on the driveline over time. I'm a fan of skinny tires on a real world jeep (majority of on road driving), the pros outweigh the cons IMO.
Yes what I was thinking mainly tracking .. What size tires are u running? .. I guess I'm trying to compromise between both highway and off road . Been running the 12.5' for three years ..

Hey forejeeper

I'm. Currently running Goodyear duratracs 315/70r-17's. They are 315mm (12.402") wide and 34.4" in dia. I think they are the best on/off road tire you can get (IMO)
They handle very well on road and are great in ice and snow. They are good off road an good in the mud, biggest downfall is the 2ply sidewalls. Not sure what sizes are
Available in 18" size. But I'm. Sure that Goodyear has them to fit your situation. Hope this helped
