Default Tire Upgrade Question

Hey All,

I'm going to be upgrading my Goodyear Wrangler MT/R 245/70/17 to Goodyear Wrangler MT/R 35x12.5x17. Does anyone know if there will be an issue with my stock wheel width or backspacing?

You'll rub a bit with the stock wheels. Many run 4-4.5" back spacing or wheels spacers. Another consideration, do you have a lift? No lift + 35's, you'll rub over bumps and simple off cambers pulling into/out of parking lots.

Also if you are just doing it for looks you could put a 1.25" body lift (about perfect size) flat flares you will be fine but offroad you will have problems.

No not for looks. I do some offroading. It's just that I now need new tires and figured I'd try to take advantage of the rebate and upgrade to a larger sized tire all at once.

you could always do a 2.5 budget boost lift and that would get you the room for the 35s
