Default Tire ?uestion: Dick Cepek or BFGoodrich?

Well, I was dead set on BFG's MT KM2s, but I keep hearing sketchy reports about how they are particularly heavy and hard to balance. Anyone care to weigh in (no pun intended) on those comments? Anyway, I'v been recommended to look at Dick Cepek's Mud Country as an option. Anyone here happen to have experience with these? Thanks in advance.

I had ordered a set of eagle rims and BFG KM2's a few days ago, and some of the guys I worked with said they are absolute crap, wear quickly and are bad in wet conditions (no siping). I went to a different dealer and got a quote on the same rims and toyo open country MT's, which have good siping... and the clincher, it came to $700 less. Now I don't know if BFG's are overpriced, or if the tire shop I went to first just bent me over, but I definetly went and cancled my order the next day.

km2 are a great tire , quiet for a mud and will last a long time. they dont have the siping if your in the snow. the toyos and km2 muds are one of the better tires out there if not the best. never heard of any problems balancing them. check out some of the older threads for more info.

Neither.

Buy the Nitto Mud Grapplers. They cost more than the Cepeks but less than the KM2s and there's a lot of happy users on here with alot of miles on them.

Go with the TOYO M/T. Expensive but worth it in the long run.

I have 33"dc mud countrys, love them. have only had them for about a month but they're quiet on the highway and look good. I'd recommend them

I love my KM2's. Wearing evenly and well after 7,000 miles so far, not too loud. The only time I notice the noise is with the doors off going highway speeds. Expensive, but really great so far.

X2, I balanced mine at 4 ounces per tire (35x12.5x17)

I've run BFG's off and on for years without issues and all had good tread life. Never run DC's but a buddy has 45,000 on a set of Mud Countries and they still have some miles left. IMO, both are good tires.
