Is 285/70/17 the same as 33/12.5/17??

Actually no. It is more of a 33/11.5/17. I run them and they are perfect for a JK 2 door with 2" of lift.

A 305/65R17 would be closer to a 33/12.5/17

Same ~33" diameter but width is a little less at ~11.5"
