Tire Size Problem!!!!
Ok, I have made it over one huge hump and decided that I want to go for the newer Cooper Disco AT/3 in 265 75 R16. I like cooper tires and the fact they are made in the US is a plus.
Problem im having is that cooper makes a C load range in that size as well as a passenger tire 116 T. Im confused because the 116T carries a higher load rating than the C.
Not sure which one to go with as of now. The only difference i see is the C load range is 6 ply and the passenger tire is not.
Any advice (help) on this matter would be greatly appreciated!

I bought the cooper discovery at/3's w/kevlar about one year ago. Im big on products made in the USA but THE only thing Im kicking myself for is that I got the load range E. Not smart on my part because of how much they weigh. I have to hit the overdrive button when im going up hills with my cruise set. Went to the dunes in Michigan and i let almost all the pressure out of the tires and yet the sidewalls didnt give much. If I had a do over, I would get a lighter tire.

It Depends on what kind of wheeling you do .I run toyo mt in e rated tire and i for the most part do not have to worry about ripping a hole on the side of the tire from rocks. There's nothing worse than trying to change the tire on the trail.

I just went that way and they fill up the wheel well just right with no life and just minimum spacers

For the longest time i was torn between the 265 and the 285. The problem I was having is a lot of tires from brands I like are only D and E load range in that size. IMHO those are overkill for a Jeep considering they are made with 1 ton pickups in mind!
My theory behind this is since I work so much I dont have as much time to play as I did before especially with a new baby boy.
Its my daily driver so it sees 85% on road driving, but camping, hiking, fishing, outdoor activities are a must so I want a tire like the Cooper AT/3 that is a good on road tire but can also handle the trails and occasional winters in Maryland.
Cooper At/3 is C load Range in 265 and E load range in 285.

Look at the 33x10.5 BFG AT. Very light and a C rated tire. Just put them on with no lift, but running new wheels with 3.75 backspace.

Now that you have had those tires for awhile, what do you think? I also own a JKU and am really leaning in the 33x10.5x15 AT direction. I have had good luck with the BFG ATs in the past but have never ran this size. This is a relatively common setup on the TJs, but rare on the JK. Seems like a very good solution for highway/snow covered road/sportsman/woodsy trail type application(which is what I do).
Any regrets?
