Default Tire Size

Will a set of 285/70/17 inch tires fit on stock Rubicon wheels? What lift would you suggest?

Im actually looking at the same size and would be interested in any info too.
I know teraflex says you need wheel spacers for their 2.5" budget boost, or new rims.

Mine have been running fine with a Daystar 1.75 BB. This spring I'm installing a OME 2". Don't know why you'd need spacers due to a lift. Seems like that should be the product of tire width and wheels and the 285/70/17 on Moab wheels don't need spacers.

I was thinking about tyres too so I did the sums on the sizes:

Stock: 255/75R17 = 31.8' x 10 (Height x width)

275/70R17 = 31.9 x 10.8

285/70R17 = 32.4 x 11.2

I went with the middle ones (Unfortunately - now I would have gone the bigger one's) and have ordered a Full Traction BB.

Here's a conversion tool that I found on procomp's website. It's a handy little tool anyway if you're wondering the size of certain tires.
