Default Tire question

Just got a 16' unlimited sahara, thinking about putting the mopar 2" lift kit on it. The sahara comes with 18's but I was looking for advice on whether 17's would be better with the lift. Any input would be greatly appreciated.

to me it's more of a....you'll have more options for tires on 16 or 17" wheel versus an 18".....and the cost for tires is much much lower on a smaller wheel.....I dumped my 18s and never looked back

I bought 16" wheels and regret it all of the best tire and size options are on a 17" wheel.

I'm still trying to decide which ones I want.

What tire and sizes you're looking that you're not able to find in 16 vs 17?? Overall diameter would be the same or so close between both sizes, I'm having a hard time with your answer to the OP. , and they're a tad cheaper compared to 17's, I went with 17's myself cause my local tire shop had plenty of those in stock, and nothing in 16 without having to wait until next day to get them.

More specifically the rating on the tire, most being E rated in a 315 on 16.

37 on 16 however the only ones available are either Maxxis, falken, swampers, or whatever. Bias ply is common in the swamper 37 I could find.

On a 17, toyo, nitto, cooper, bfg, pro comp, good year, etc. are all available in 315 and 37 12.5 or 13.5 in some cases both. I could be mistaken but I looked for 37s on 16s I liked for months.

Lot's of great 17" wheel choices out there and practically any brand of tire will make a size tire for the Jeep that you want to put on that 17" wheel.

Thanks, think I'm going with 17's with 33" tires with a 2" lift.
