Tire Pressure sensors. If I sell my stock wheels... can I keep the sensors?
Just curious here. I'm thinking of selling my stock Sahara wheels/Toyo tires and SpiderTrax wheel spacers. Going down to 17" and with a 4.5 offset to eliminate the spacers.
What happens to the tire pressure sensors? How do they even work? Do they have to go with the stock wheels? Can I reinstall them in my new XD Addict wheels?

You can remove them and reinstall them, you could buy another set (go used- it's cheaper), or buy a programmer and turn the light off/ forget about the sensors completely.

I know these are very sensitive and many people just find them a bother. One wheel being out even one PSI seems to cause that light to come on. But........
How exactly do they even work? What is involved with removing and reinstalling them?
On the other topic of "the programmer"... how does that work?
Quadratec has replacement sensors for $130... and that looks like EACH! Probably worth more than the wheels.
The programmer looks to be over $300.00

I replaced my factory Rubi wheels and tires with aftermarket stuff and just bought new sensors with the new wheels from Discount Tire and I believe they were $23 apiece...contact them I was really happy with the service I received from them they even wanted a picture of my Jeep with the new 35's and custom wheels to hang in their shop!

Leave the gun. Take the cannoli
Recently had new shoes put on my 2010 JKUS. Local Kauffman Tires swapped sensors to new Duratracs 315/70R17 on M/T Classic III 17x9 with 4.5BS.
Easy and fast. They put plain stems in the old 18" Sahara rims and refilled the old tires and packed them in the back of my Jeep. Price was better than Sam's Club by $20 per tire. $8 better than Tire Rack even before shipping charge! They even threw in extended hazard warranty and free rotations and balance for life!
Good times!
