Tire Pressure Questions on 33's
I recently put 33x12.5 Dunlop Radial Mud Rovers on my 2 door X. The installer put them on at 40 psi. I did the chalk test and it seemed even, but rougher on road. I dropped to 35 psi and either I read wrong or something but chalk test seemed good. Ride was softer, more what I wanted. My question...would running at 35 psi have any negative effects on wear? I am fairly new to MT style tires so I want to optimize their already short life. Thanks.

The chalk test gives you the amount of pressure you need pertaining to your vehicle. Most tire shops fill them with the amount needed for heavier full-size trucks. You can lower them down to 30psi for the street if you want.

Max tire pressure is for maximum load for the tire. Say max load is 1500 lbs per tires and your jeep weighs 6000lbs then fill your tires to 40 psi. here's the math 4 tires x 1500 = 6000. Since the jeep weighs less than 6000 lbs lower the tire pressure. 30 psi is good for those tires.

Cool thanks for the quick replies. I think I will drop them to the what the door says...seem a bit rough now.
