Question Tire Mods WITHOUT Lifts? Help?

I am a newbie to the Wrangler world, but a jeep freak at that ; I was wondering if anyone could suggest wheels and tires for a '07 2dr to maximize off-road capabilities w/o a lift? It is a leased vehicle (stoopid for getting that F-150 last year) so I want to keep it simple. I was thinking Goodyear MT/R because I can get 3 for the price of 4 (the wife says I have to wait to do the spare ) and black wheels, but I am open for any suggestions. Thanks.

I like my setup but will get a lift soon. No rubbing with this wheel tire combo.

Very nice. I really like that front bumper. I saw your write up on the custom build a while back. Looks great.

Geeper4x4 did the right thing, 33" tires are pretty much the most u can
fit without a lift.

also if u decide to go with a lift down the road, there are alot of 2" and 2.5" budget boost lifts that are well priced and go really great with 33"s

also, im doing the same thing as you, only getting the four tires and waiting on the spare (my excuse tho is im in college and simply will need that extra 200, lol) but my advice would be to pick up a cool tire cover so the stock wheel doesnt stand out as much

Good luck with ur new tires!

I am planning on the TeraFlex 2.5 budget boost. I would try to find a used 33 at a budget price for the spare if money is an issue. If you are out on the trail you will need a 33 since the stock wheel tire is so much smaller. The differential will not hold up well to the stain of that size difference. This could cause very expensive repairs. Get a tire cover for the 33 and no one will know they are not all the same. (IndianaJK) I was born in Evansville, IN.

If I were you, I'd go somewhere else...I wouldn't pay for 4 tires and only get 3!! Kidding, probably a typo I know....alot of people go with 265/75R16 (32" tall)...or maybe 285/75R16 (33") for something a little taller. Wheels are up to you, so many choices....

Mine are the 265/75R16 on 16x8 wheels with 4" BS...no lift, and looks alot better than it did when I got it.

Thanks for the help. I have narrowed it down to the Cragar Soft 8s (16 x 8) and BFG MTs if that is possible. I have a spare tire cover ATM and it will stay until April when I will get the 5th for my b-day. (I just bought a 46" Sony XBR LCD and that is why my lovely lady won't go for #5). If I go with the Soft 8s in that size do you know if I will need wheel spaces? I am going to order the wheels/accessories from Quadratec and I am getting the tires at my Ford dealership because we get great deals there, I just want to make sure I have everything necessary so that I can slap these things on and get going to the mountains.

I really like the Jeep Green and your setup! I always think it should have a white Army star on it. My second favorite color.

I like your ride A LOT!! Almost went with the red, but I have always wanted a blackout Jeep. I am going to go with the BFG MT that you have, now I am just trying to match tire size with wheel size...I am a dummy!
