I would definately go with the 35's. You will regret it after just a few weeks, i can almost garentee that. I decided to go with 35's and i couldn't be happier. I have had them for about 2 months and I am planning on regearing at the start of 2011. If u get the 35's just buy a superchip programmer and it will hold u over until u find a shop that will quote u a lower price for regearing.

Here r a few pics of my jeep on 325/65/18, with a 3 inch lift of old man emu. Once again it lack a bit of power but a programer like a Superchip will make it livable by adjusting the shift point until u regear.

Don't use any regear chart as guidance other than the chart found in this forum. It is JK specific, and breaks its down into manual & auto.

Here's a link....

click on it and scroll till you find the chart (I have to scroll up 1 page). It's very accurate and very helpful.

I didn't see anywhere in the thread indicating if you have a 6-speed or an auto. IMO, 35's are def the way to go. Regearing won't do anything for you that downshifting can't do. It will improve your crawl rpms at low speed and in 4-lo, but will also drop your overdrive ratio, raising your rpms in top gear, dropping your fuel economy (though the larger tires will do a good job at that, too). I have a 6-speed with 35's, though it is a 2007 with 4.10's, and find it completely livable, on the highway and on the trails. It is a dog, but was that way before anyway.

Take others testimony, who thought gears werent needed and then when they did regear, they realized what a difference it makes. More power and less strain on the drivetrain. Not to mention crawling becomes easier. What ever you decide on good luck.

Then definitely go with the 35's !!! You know you already want them, plus your getting a 2.5" lift plus flat flares, so 33's will look a bit small on the 4 door in my opinion.

I've been rolling 35's, auto, 3.73 for almost 6 months now and love it.....sure I'll regear, but it handles fine now with the Superchip. In fact....with the superchip tuned to the correct larger tire height, my JK has more power and performs better with 3.73 gears and 35's then it did stock with neither. Then only place it's a drag for me is mtn passes.

Go for the 35's.

I was looking all over for that thing, thank you I couldn't remember where I found it.
On the other hand that chart I had posted was for the JK as well. I wouldn't just post any random crap to screw someone up.

Thanks for the feedback. 35s it is, though it will probably be a couple months after dropping the money on the lift and flares. Hopefully by the new year I wil have them, buy one per paycheck. An since I live so close to work it shouldn't be too bad to deal with until I can regear it someplace at a better price.

Now comes the task of finding which tire I want!!!

And i have an auto
