i originally started with 10oz based on a chart for my size. shook like hell so added 2 more oz. is a lot better now. but still feel a shimmy. gonna add 2 more and see. i plan on driving down to fort lauderdale in a couple a weeks so i gotta figure this out before we shove off or the ride is gonna be really annoying

I've had my Jeep up to 80mph and haven't had any issues no shakes or shimmies. As for as regular city driving I haven't noticed anything different. The only time I notice the beads is when I have taken my spare off and rolled it, then I'll hear the beads rolling inside the wheel. As far as the install if you read through some of the information on Dynabeads website they recommend that you install the beads when mounting the tire onto the wheel. Cut the bag and roll the top so that it remains closed then once the wheel begins to rotate they will begin to fall out and work there magic.

I had a K5 with 46" Mickey Thompsons on Rock Stars, not sure how good of a comparison that is to what you are doing but they were awful "bouncy" at highway speeds, intermittently. They would be smooth for a minute or two then bounce a little, then smooth again...
Hope this helps but I would go with balancing as long as they shop can fit the wheel/tire on the balancer (if it is THAT big, they can take off the cover that goes over it on most balancers, just FYI).

37" Mud Grapplers with beads and no problems. First time I've ever used beads in a personal vehicle but we use them on most all of my work trucks (Ford 450s and 550s). Work great IMO.
