Default Thoughts: RC 3.5, 1.25BL, 35's

I've spent hours surfing through different posts but have a few questions to ask.

I'm 21 years old and just got my tax return...

Here's what I'm looking at

Rough Country 3.5" Series II
Rough Country 1.25" Body Lift (to look a little more aggressive)
35/12.5/R17 Nitto Trail Grapplers
17" KMC Addicts

I'm pretty sure my 6-speed has 3.73 gears but I'm checking that tomorrow.

I don't have the budget to change the gears right away, am I wasting my time buying all the other components?

I don't intend on doing any "flexing" but might hit some trails a few times.

My jeep has 5K on it right now, I'm looking to keep it for as long as possible.

Most of my driving is highway driving.

Does anyone see anything alarming about this set up?

I intend on purchasing everything on Monday and installing it next weekend.

that build would be fine. but with the way gas prices are going not sure about lift and tires these days

a BL will be over kill for 35s. just do the lift and tires.

I am running same setup minus the bodylift.... Also, helped with installing a RC 3.5 series II on TheKid25 yesterday... all went well

Go with the BL, its a quick 1.25. Super easy to install!!

Sent you a PM but make sure you understand the lift laws in MA. Based on your setup, you could have a difficult time passing inspection in MA. Max lift you can go with an unlimited is about 4" total based on the calculation (that would include both your lift and tire size combined).

Also, body lifts are not legal in MA so keep that in mind as well.

You will also need a new front driveshaft most likley if your lift you Unlimited over 3" (and I've seen boot tear on 2.5" coil lifts).


** and yes, I know the OP does not have MA listed as their location but he does live in MA now.

Thanks for the great info. You are correct. I go to college in Maryland, but my home is back in Massachusetts.
