Thanks,

Hey Lincoln,

First I've got to tell you my opinion is biased because I'm one of the owners of the company, so it's not fair for me to compare ours to other carriers. I can tell you truthfully the tire carriers are rattle-free.

I know this doesn't help but I didn't want to ignore your post.

Thanks for the pics I am still torn between the two different rear bumpers Is the rock slider stronger than the sheet metal bumper? Also do you know which one weighs more?

Default Tire Carrier

Yates,
Thanks for the reply and more importantly the honesty. Looks like you have a great product line and are dedicated to supporting your customers and jeepers in general. Glad to see good old american ingenuity still at work. Consider me sold, when I get my lift and need a new carrier.

I would have to say the sheet metal bumper would be "stronger" than our rock slider bumper because the plate bumper is 3/16" (.190) thick where as the 2" tube on the rock slider bumper is .120 wall tube. The sheet metal bumper weights 100 lbs(ish) and the tube is about 70 lbs. The tube bumper connect to the factory mounts with 1/4" plate steel and the plate bumper connects with our nut plates and 1/2" plate steel (plus you still use the two smaller factory bolts). Both bumpers are rugged. Some people like "tube" bumpers and others like "plate" bumpers.

I just got it installed last night, and as you can see it was late and I still didn't have the winch all put together... but... here is a picture of my new bumper:

I think this is the one you're wanting. I've had mine for a couple of months along with the rear sheet metal bumper. They are both awesome and very easy to install. Or Fab makes a winch plate for the stubby, that I will be getting along with the tire carrier.

Do you know how much your coils sagged after the install? It look like your coils are still stock right?

I'm running the rock slider rear, it's one of the few rear tube bumpers on the market. I got it for the weight savings over a plate steel bumper and the fact that I have tubular sliders and front bumper on my rig.

The packaging of the orfab products is second to none, everything was in perfect condtion when I got it. Not suprising when everything is encased in expanding foam

It's very durable. Aftyer this first pic was taken my jeep dropped into a 3' hole right onto a rock on the right corner piece of the bumper, just lost some powdercoat and scatched the tube...that was it.

I have since added a swingout tire carrier to the bumper, took a little custom work but works flawlessly:

I only have one complaint about the bumper and that's with the powdercoat, it's currently flaking off the entire bumper and I've only had it for a year. We've had a bad winter here in CT so I blame the excessive use of roadsalt for this, but still am kind of dissapointed. Not a big deal though, all my armor is gonna get a fesh coat of matte black spraypaint once it warms up

Yes stock. No sag that I have noticed. This bumper is not much heavier than the stock one.
