Looking at these - bearing pre-pressed.
I called northridge and the dude said he was pretty sure they were 4140, but no official confirmation.

I ordered through Northridge. Kinda hard to beat their prices. Before ordering I called and talked to my buddy at DTS in Michigan...they sell a bunch of Motive/Ten Factory stuff. If you look @ Tens catalog you'll see where they mention all rear JK axles being 4140. Northridge offers both options, with or without pressed on bearings. It's like $60 more for the pressed on bearings. I ordered them pressed on.

I called/emailed when I was researching replacement rear 30sp shafts. Don't know if anything has changed since then, or if the verbals I got were accurate, but ...
TenFactory and G2 - 4140 'for the JK'. (No 1541h for us.)
Nitro - 4130
AlloyUSA - 4140, (and got a verbal that you can special order 4340)
Yukon - select whatever strength I wanted, but they were not custom fit to the JK, so I would pay a shop to have them cut down.
Warranty
TenFactory and G2 - Ten years, flanges covered.
Nitro - 5 years, but only if it breaks. Twisted/bent/worn, you're out of luck.
Yukon - verbal that all damage is covered, lifetime on mfg defects.
Patterns
Yukon - triple drilled - 5x4.5 5x5.0 5x5.5
Nitro - triple - 5x4.5 5x5.0 5x5.5
TenFactory/G2 - dual - 5x5.0 5x5.5
AlloyUSA - dual 5x5.0 5x5.5 (I think)

nthinuf, thanks so much for sharing your research!
Havoc40, much appreciation on the source and info!
Maertz, you should buy me those 300Ms!
All said and done, you really can't beat a 10yr warranty (including the flange).
Seems like if I were to bend more than one chromoly shaft, I'll have to start seriously considering a bigger rear end.

Upgraded to ALLOY about the same time as making the leap to 37's. While on 37's I did bend the front axle tubes. Running toyo 37's which we all know are super heavy just in themselves then add beadlocks to that and you have one heavy tire. Upgraded the front axle to a Dynatrac Pro Rock 44 with RCVs and haven't thought twice about it.
