I'm currently in the process of painting, just have the spare done. kh202's pictures look just like mine, though. Great job.

Guess the difference in paint is minimal and hardly noticeable.

I used Duplicolor brand wheel enamel. I am very happy with the result. I scratched them on rocks on a trail and with a little light sanding the touch up was flawless. What I don't like about bed liner and plasti dip is how thick it is. When it is scratched the scratches are deep because of how thick it goes on.

As with any paint job it is all about the prep. No matter which way you go be sure to do a light sanding with a fine grit or scotch brite and degrease well

I too had success using Duplicolor wheel paint. Metallic silver matte with metallic silver matte clear.

Thanks for the input. I think I'll try the wheel paint and hopefully it turns out good.

I painted my wheels almost a year ago with the cheap paint from Walmart, I got the flat black for $0.96 a can. I just roughed up the clear coat pretty good with scotchbrite pads and sprayed the wheels. The paint has held up great, no chipping or flaking, just scratches and gouges from the rocks

Here are my American racing punisher rims. They used to be black chrome but got torn up Offroad so I decided to bed line them with duplicolor.

What did you do (prep) to the chrome prior to bed lining them?

Anyone else with any suggestions? Got the wheels today and will probably paint on Tuesday.

I used flat black RustOleum on mine. First sanded with 400 grit sand block then applied the rustoleum primer and then the paint over it. It has been holding very well for more than two years. I have a few photos in my album.
