I just found the invoice. Sorry Guys, I don't like passing bad information and in this case I did... I was off a bit. The axle all in was 630 lbs... not 670 lbs. And the total weight was 730 lbs with the pallet. I had to go to a different email account to find the bill and with that a slew of emails around it. This is what you get when you have had alcohol and a two year gap. The 776 number included another box that belonged to my neighbor. When they emailed us it was ready for pick up, the scale had both items on it. Hence why I had 776 number. So the good news is it is lighter than I first stated. The bad news is it still weights a freaking ton.

My first guess when I spoke to my neighbor was 600 lbs and I was basing that off of a regular 60. When they weighed it, it came in at 730 lbs which included the pallet. So below is the shipping invoice.

Ok, starting to make sense. The brakes alone are a good 100 lbs. While I never weighed it, I have to believe we cut off at least 50 lbs worth of brackets and cast.

Discovered an interesting data point on my front axle (2005+ D60). The axle has 9-10 degrees of separation (I can't be certain which it is with my angle finder) between the pinion and C's. That compares to a stock JK axle of 6*. It's like ordering a prorock for a 4" lift. So, you can have a good caster and a good pinion angle. I wasn't really concerned because I'll roll with the hubs unlocked, but it definitely helps in terms of reducing potential driveshaft bind.

Other than the short driver side axle tube and the weight, I'm a huge fan of the axle.

now if we can come up with a cheap solution for a sterling axle wheel speed sensor, we have one awsome combination.

This is great information! Something I've wondered about and never seen mentioned in other threads about swapping in 60's. It would be great if there was chart with all this info. Probably already is somewhere on pirate

I've got my eye on a D60 out of an 2008 F350 with 4:10's. They guy at the yard said that the 350's never came from the factory with lockers in them.. Seems as if some sites say they did, and others say they didn't. I assume it was an option, but can anyone confirm? Rotor to Rotor they want $825.

I would suggest a 14b or the sterling rear. I have heard the sterling rears are a nightmare to set up gears. Primarily due to the newer materials used on the crush sleeves. Not sure if they make pinion crush sleeve eliminator kits for that axle or not but if they do I'd highly recommend one.
