Default Thinking of new wheels, anyone with experience with Ballistic Jester

Saw these on a silver Jeep at a dealership and love the look of the wheels, especially since I have a 2012 flame red Rubicon. Anyone with these and any thoughts as to which size of wheel for 35s? I know it's a bit of personal preference, but I'd like to able to compare the look with the different size wheels. Also does this affect ride? Kinda new to off-road so I'm not exactly sure where to start.

The general rule is that you want a tire that is at least twice the diameter as your wheels.. So 32 or 33inch tire on a 16, 34 or 35 on a 17, 36 or 37 on an 18 ect. Those are basically the maximum size wheel you should run on those tires. You don't have to do this but that is the general rule. Doing this allows the best amount of sidewall flex at low pressures. With that being said you can run a 33 inch tire in a 20 inch rim. Yes it will work just fine. But, it will not have as smooth a ride as say a 33 on a 16 and some say won't work as well off road. Less sidewall equals rougher ride, more sidewall equals more sidewall flex at aired down pressures on the trail. it basically all comes down to personal preferences. Some people hate 20s unless they are wrapped in a 40 inch tire, some people love them wrapped in 33s or 35s. Another thing to remember is that the larger the rim the more expensive the tires are. I personally run 33s on 16s and thing it's perfect. Just my .02 Hope this helped.

X2 you nailed it. I have 35s with 18's. I love the look but after hearing of the general rule I certainly wouldnt have minded going with a 17in wheel. The tires would have been so much cheaper. 5 x 365/65-18 = No more mod money for awhile.
