I was curious about Lockers in a Dana 30 Front axle...

Local shop wants $1900 to install ARB's in my current Dana 30 front axle...
or...
should I save up for a custom Dana 44 with lockers for around $2800??

Thanks for your insight
See you all out on the trails

Edit: Sry guys still trying to figure out the right formula for adding pics.... hope you can see them now

I also installed a Full Traction 3" LA kit. It drives great and I've never seen this in a Jeep before. I think it's unique and everyone wants to see it. Everywhere I drive, folks can't stop talking about it. Check it out:

looks good. I would not install a locker unless you put chromoly shafts in.

Looks great! Do you have some side shots of it sitting in the driveway? How long did it take you to do?

Thanks,

I think I do have a photo like that Joe, but it's on my computer at home, I will post on when i find it..

- Good idea on the chromoly shafts (hadn't thought of that)

The actually time to install lift was really only about 24-26 hours...

Though, I took me a few months to get everything done since I could only work a few hours at a time on Sundays...

Plus another 4 hours for me to switch out a Dana 35 rear axle for a D44...
Yeah, i had one of those rare JK X's with this rear axle... and of course i didn't realize this until I already had the front gears done...

Although i did say the shafts would be good, the dana 44 would be good to have. You need to find out what kind of parts there using before you make the decision.
