Default TF 2.5" lift + 35's question

I just bought a JKU last Wednesday, I ordered a TeraFlex 2.5" coil lift with shocks, TeraFlex adjustable front track bar, TeraFlex front disconnects, TeraFlex steering stabilizer and Northridge 4x4's bolt kit. My JKU came with Dick Cepek Torque rims in 18x8.5 ( DC Torque Specs ) Can anyone tell me if I will need spacers with the TF lift and 35" tires? I appreciate any help.

Thanks,
Mike

The 18x8.5 wheel has a 20 offset in the 5x5 size. That gives it about a 5.5" backspacing or an inch better than stock. Ideal would be 4.5" backspacing. It'll fit but the 35s will rub at full wheel lock.

Thanks for the quick reply. Could you recommend a spacer?

Bora! Can be made to custom size which I like instead of being stuck with the standard sizes made by certain company's.

SpiderTrax is the big name in wheel spacers, the one everyone else is compared against.

Just looked at Bora's website.
Most mfg's make spacers in the 1.5"-2" range. At 1.25", Teraflex has a big note on theirs that trimming the studs may be necessary. So just a heads-up that if you go less, you should probably expect the trim to get them to fit right.

X2 on the BORA's. I've had em for a couple of years on my Jkur with no issues.

I have the TF 2.5 lift on my JKUR and until a week ago was running TF 1.25 spacers with factory rims and 35s. Only thing needing trimmed was the front air damn. I also did not have to trim the studs, it all depends on the flat surface on the rim. On my factory wheels I had grooves that allowed any extra lug length to fit right into. When I say extra lug length I'm referring to millimeters maybe 1 to 2. If your rims have a purely flat mounting service then don't go any smaller than 1.5. If you have the a rubi with the factory rock rails you will have a little rubbing over bumps with 35s if you don't correct the axle distance (when you lift it the axles will come in towards the center of the vehicle, unless you get adjustable or fixed control arms for that lift). I just took mine off to be safe and got aftermarket rock rails.

I have 35" (315/70/17) Goodyear Duratracs on my '13 2-door and there is NO rub full lock with my American Outlaw Marshal 17x9 wheels with 5.7" backspacing. Haven't tried reverse full lock yet and don't do serious off-roading so not sure about that. I run a Teraflex 1.5" leveling kit.
