Testing a locker/axle out of the Jeep
So I recently was able to come across a good deal on a factory front 44 with locker; the gears are shot, and it has not shafts. I am going to put this in mine to replace my 30 (which I am tired of breaking) until I can go to 60's. When the previous owner exploded the R&P, he damaged the locker quite a bit from what I can tell...
Either way I got a good deal on this thing, but my question is, how can I test this locker to see if it works, while its sitting here on my garage floor? Is it as simple as a neg/pos wire attachment to a power source? A way to do it manually?
If it doesnt work, form the research I have done, it doesnt look like they are rebuildable.. is that true?

You're right. It's not gonna work.
But, if you were to test one, it would be as simple as connecting 12 volts to the two wires at the connector.
So far, no one has found a source for new replacement parts.

That's what I figured. Even still, I got a good deal on the housing, the locker working/repairable woulda been icing on the cake. Wonder if it would be worth trying to sell for parts....
