Default Teraflex and wheel spacers

Hi all

I am about to pull the trigger on either AEV 2.5" lift, which the manufacturer states you don't need wheel spacers
OR
Teraflex 2.5" lift with Rancho shocks
But Teraflex says I will need wheel spacers.

When would I need them, is it at full flex ?
99% of the time I'm on the highway

I think it is to keep the sway bar links from hitting your tires.

Sent from some string and a few tin cans.

If you're running wider than stock tires you should get spacers. After my 2.5" Teraflex lift and only with 285s my sway bar links were dangerously close to the tires and that was not flexing. I added spacers.

Confused I am

AEV doesn't give you extended rear swaybar links. That is the only component on the TF kit that requires you to use wheel spacers. You can mount the rear extended swaybar links inboard in order to run stock wheels without spacers.

I am in the process of getting the Teraflex 2.5 and have been wondering about the same thing. Think I may still go with some spacers though.

You need more back spacing to keep tires away from sway bar link. If you still have stock wheels, even the stock width tires will be close to the rear sway bar link.

If you plan on getting new wheels down the road with less back spacing, just run with no rear sway bar for awhile. That's what I did, you can hardly tell its off. Not nearly as noticeable as the fronts
