I'm about the pull the trigger on buying this and have a question: I'm going to be using my stock rubicon 17" rims, with 35" tires (probably 315/70R17) - do I need the adjustable tire carrier part also?

Thanks,
Mike

Or a spacer/extension bracket for your OE carrier.

No, in fact your stock wheel won't fit on the adjustable tire mount part unless you bought a spacer. I think you'll be fine as far as backspacing goes but u will have bumper clearance issues if you're running a 35 on it

I am running stock rim with 33's (14 rubicon) and I had to trim the one bumper that you use (driver side) and it is pretty close to the 3rd brake light bracket ie right up against it. I can post photos later today.

You'll be fine with the stock carrier and the TF hinge I think

Sorry, not drinking this KoolAid. Might be good for mallcrawling with a big wheel/tire combo but over time it will not hold up like a bumper mounted tire carrier will. $700 for what is basically a hinge plate. Or, $865 for an entire bumper and tire carrier that works with the tailgate? Hmmmm

I know lol that is what I have. I had to cut the stock spare tire bumper in half and it presses up pretty firmly on the brake light bracket.

For me, I wanted to keep the stock bumper.
