Any problem getting the SWR set with the antenna paralleling the jack?

Default Awesome!!

I finally installed my Teraflex tire carrier that had been sitting in the garage for weeks. All I can say is no wonder the factory hinges were making all this noise, they are chinsey pieces of cr&ps. The 33" BFG's are heavy and caused a lot of knocking and creeking noises in the tailgate, after installing the Teraflex all I can say is WOW... this thing is so stout; now my jeep is noise free!!

Now I need to get mey Teraflex leveing kit and JCR bumpers and bushwacker flat fenders all installed... This is the year my jeep makes a huge transformation!!

Installed Teraflex HD Tire Carrier today and it is stout!! Love it! I have the high lift jack mount on order. Is anyone carrying the 48" high lift on the carrier mount? I have my jack, it just looks like it is going to be too tall. I currently have the Trektop NX installed.

I picked up a 48" but then I swapped it for a 42" because the 48 was 6-7" over the hardtop and soft top.

The 48 will work but you might have some clearance issues.

I was unhappy with the CB mount an inch from the Hi-Lift so I installed my CB antenna on the passenger a-pillar using a light mount. (I have a stubby FM antenna). It works great for me and I have an SWR of 1.1 from 1-40.

Do you have any pics of the antenna mount, I would love to see them

I figured there would be a SWR issue. Not a good place at all for an antenna unless you run a top loaded antenna and get the load up above the jack.

I used the mount from cooltech llc and it works ok. With the 35s I had to use the high mounting position and the antenna does contact the tire, but does not interfere with opening the glass when the tailgate is swung wide open.

I know this is an old post, but- check the install video from Teraflex. They recommend removing all gaps, so the tire rests on the hinge on one side, and the remaining bumpstop on the other. Shouldn't be any wiggle after that. I think this is important to avoid stressing the tire carrier itself.
