what is the intent of the 3 smaller holes tapped towards the left side of the hd hinge? is that for a cb mount potentially? my "old style" teraflex cb mount is NOT compatible with the hd hinge, which sucks. just wondering if there is a bracket that teraflex is putting out for this carrier or if i need to do some fab work?

It's for their new Hi-Lift mount that also has an integrated CB antenna mount.

Just get some extra washers and flip the cb mount and put it on the left side of the carrier instead of the right side. You will also need to grab 2 longer bolts also. It has been working great for me since Dec 12'

The factory bolt size for the bolts that holds the tire carrier at M8x1.25x30. You should get 2 bolts from Lowe's or home depot that are about a 1/4" longer than the stock bolts

I'd do that except for the fact that I've already used that location for a bracket that I fabbed up for a backup light. What are the 3 smaller tapped holes for towards the left side of the carrier? The hi-lift mount holes are on the right and are larger so not sure what the other 3 are for. I'm thinking these would work for attaching a home brew cb bracket...

I don't know what the 3 smaller holes are for. In fact I can't even acess them with my wheel/tire on the carrier. I can only access the 3 larger holes on the right if the hinge

Nice idea, all you need is to add one more weld and you could mount your antenna right to your bracket.

Sometimes its amazing how the obvious escapes you until someone else points it out. Problem solved!

I'd be a little nervous with that setup right there.. looks like you are pushing that tire way out to clear the bumper and just puts way more stress on the stock carrier. Especially when the wheel isn't braced against the tailgate.

You may want to look into the adj tire carrier bracket they offer too.
