Similar setup here, not 1 rattle with stock carrier. Does rub a little on the bumper though, but barely and it doesn't affect anything. 35's (325/70r17)

Has anybody run into this problem. I have the Teraflex tire carrier with a Smittybilt XRC rear bumper. When opening the gate the bottom of the gate scrapes on the bumper. Any ideas on why this might be?

Loosen everything up and adjust the bottom of the tailgate even with the bottom of the tub.

Like this mount a lot. Looks like one guy in the thread mounted the Rugged Ridge Hi-Lift to it.

This is the route I'm going with the eventual TF tire carrier/PS rear bumper combo. Won't save a ton of weight but every little bit helps. This is why I am going with a PS Brawler Lite in the front to save weight there also. No winch for me either.

Excellent creativity, I really, really like this. Some of you people never cease to amaze me (most of the time it's in a good way :-P).

did you mount your studs on the 35 inch holes or 37? granted I still use my stock bumper but with the studs mounted on the 37 holes(for future 37's) with my 35 inch tires, my tires are no where near the bumper.

did you have the gate resting on something solid while installing the hinge?

^That. Looks like your tailgate shifted during installation and has to be realigned.

I just installed mine and it feels hard to open and close like the bushings on the hinges are super tight... For sure it feels solid but a lot harder to open and close than before just with a 33 on it.
Anyone with the same problem...
