So, where on the steering knuckle assembly did you place the angle finder?
I bridge the 2 flat spots on the bottom of it.

checking caster with a angle finder on the knuckel will not work. They are casting which can vary greatly side to side. For this methed to work you would need a machined surface on the knuckle. Mine vary 5degrees from left to right side with this method and they are the same on a aligment machine. Jeep tracks strait and handles like it did when new.

ok, based on those few latest comments:
I'm working upwards to 8-9 degrees caster as measured on my garage floor... but most importantly, backed-up with LCA measurement lengths (which I haven't posted here yet) which should keep things under control.
Interesting though, is the different results posted using cheap angle finders.
I want to reiterate that I am adjusting my caster to tune the steering/handling of my vehicle to match what I used to have before I installed the 4" lift.
I am positive that even though my numbers are high, that my actual caster is approaching the design criteria. Once I have satisfied my tuning I intend to take it to have a formal alignment completed... but not any sooner, I am enjoying playing with the geometry.
So, to recap, the TF rep has stated that the only CA trimming was done on rear CAs and not on any fronts. That's good to know and answers my first question.
As a retired military helicopter pilot I am anally meticulous (OCD FTW!) regarding certain things and am an avid DIY'r. I am learning much about the handling characteristics and plan on upsizing my tires to 37" and regearing to 5.13s.

Here is a pic with a teraflex 4" with the 8 short flex arms and 37" mtr kevlars We set the control arm length as to the install manual and it was pretty close when we took it to teraflex for the alignment FYI if you are close to teraflex their alignment rates are pretty reasonable and the jeep drives like factory
