I would say it depends. Do you have the right tools, space/time available, enough know how not to jack it up? If so, I'd say do it yourself and save some money and learn a lot about your Jeep. Invite some fellow Jeepers over for an install party. If you have any doubts, may want to take it to a shop...don't want to have the Jeep on jack stands and parts laying around only to discover you're in over your head.

x2

I only put on a TF 2.5" lift but it was my first mod. Got a member to help me out in his much larger garage and it was awesome. Since then I've tackled all the items listed in my signature on my own. I had 0 experience working on any vehicle before that. If you have the tools/time/space and help I say go for it. Read thread, watch Youtube and you should be good...

I have same lift without good lift & tools it would be almost impossible. It involved cutting & welding and that's not something I would want to do on my back. Also had to modify exhaust depending on year. So I took mine to professionals

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bD4sK__OFI4 TeraFlex has a 7 part series of YouTube videos showing how to install that kit. Having someone that do your welds correctly is going to be a must. Good luck!
