TeraFlex 9550 shocks
#12
Here we go! I say drop fox 2.0 in. Not there best but teraflex and Rancho don't hold a stone against them. I have them on my f250 and their the only ones that just plain work. By the way I've played around with the other two brands and they are good at first so take that for what it's worth.

Teraflex shocks
I'm on my second set of Teraflex shocks with a 2.5" Teraflex lift, installed in 2012 and now with a total of 65,000 miles, so about 32,000 on each set. I replaced the first set because of leadage (rear shocks), and now I'm about to replace the second set because of leakage. My 2008 JK is mainly my daily driver, but it's seem some fairly hard offroad usage at several Jeep Jamborees. Like you, I'm researching on what to replace them with, whether Teraflex again or some other brand.

What the man said. ^
I started with the 9550s and they were no better than "Eh, OK." Replaced them with Bilstein 5100s a year or so later. They were a bit better but still your basic kit shock. I snapped up a set of Teraflex-tune Fox resis whrn Northridge had a 20% off sale. Now THAT'S a shock. You get what you pay for.

I had the 9550s on my '10 rubicon for about 12000 miles and the rear two leaked totally dry, and on front leaked. I replaced with old 2.2 rough country's I had from a previous jeep and the ride was actually better. I've been running the 2.2s for just over 20000 miles and waiting for them to die so I can run longer fox shocks.
