Default Teraflex 3" and factory isolators

So I am going to install the Teraflex 3" tomorrow, and the instructions say to leave off the rear coil spring isolators unless you have a heavy rear. It says to use the fronts though. Here is my question... I have hardtop and plan to get a rear bumper with a swing away and full size spare in the future, but right now only run the factory bumper and no spare. You guys that are running the 3"... Did you use the rear isolators? It only makes like 1/2" diff right? I have a Pure Jeep stubby hanging on the front. I do not want it to rake. Need Help!

Teraflex are you here??? Anyone??!??

I used the stock rear isolators in that I plan to install a heavier bumper and tire carrier in the rear. With the stock bumper and 35 inch tire on the back right not, there is not noticable rake. It would be a pain to put it on later.

I would go with the stock isolators. Although you may end up with a little rake, it should help keep things level if you pull a trailer or use a hitch mounted cargo hauler.

I just finished installing them 30 minutes ago and it drives SOOOOOOO much better than it did before. if you need anything pm me and my phone will get the email. im on the mobil site now. and no I do not plan to change the driveshaft, there was two people hanging from the front axle fighting to get the front springs in and I do not see it hitting anything and that was with the shocks disconnected. hope this helps
Thanks man! I love some jeep people! I went with the 3" kit with front lower flex arms, and rear upper arms. I also added some front and rear adj. track arms (that won't be here until monday), and got the front links as Discos since I don't have a rubicon. It said in the instructions that coil spring compressor may or may not be needed so I got one. In my experience if it says maybe... it means definitely! lol. How much lift did you get from the kit? How much caster did you use? Did you replace the rear control arms too? Sorry for all the questions but you know how it is. There are like 300 different jeeps in your gallery, can you post yours? I think it is the nice white unlimited?

Thanks everyone for the help. I will put them on. I Dont really want to take it back apart later just to add an isolator, like you guys stated.

You definately don't need the spring compressors for the rear, if yur jk is on stands high enough, you can drop the axle and both the stock springs will fall right out. On the frt they're handyer than muscling it out although you can just use a crow bar to pop it out, either take the tranny skid and cross member off or disconnect your frt driveshaft at the diff end and zip tie it up outta the way. Put the compressor on before you do axle drop and it'll fall right out. They are very helpful for getting the new frt springs back in.

I just threw on a 1/2 thicker spring guide spacer today on my TF 3". And I do run the stock isolator on these as well.

I have a rear bumper w/ tire carrier and I think it was pretty level. But I decided when I load it up for a trip its going to come down a little. So I went from these that came w/ the kit

To these.

Thanks everybody!!! I can't wait to get this thing on tomorrow! I have read that the lift gives just over 3" in the front and just over 4" in the back. I hope this is the case. I think my 35s will look perfect at that height!

I am the same way. Plus when I think to take the photos my hands are usually covered in grease!
