Default Teraflex 2.5" Coil lift

Hello,

I am considering going with the Teraflex 2.5" lift without the "Teraflex" shocks.

Has anyone tried an alternative, shock which works well for this lift? I read something about the skyjacker shocks being close to stock ride.

I don't care for shock adapters, definitely want a replacement shock. I just don't know if it's worth the $250 extra to get the Teraflex coil kit with shocks.

(sorry if this has been asked before).

Any suggestion from personal experience would be great.

Thanks.

The teraflex shocks would be better than the skyjackers.

A lot of people go with OME LT's and Bilstein 5100's.

Default A good thread on the subject

Good luck with your selection process, most of these decisions depend heavily on what you plan to do once you have the Jeep lifted. The coil spring route is a great way to start out but if you are mostly concerned with the look and clearance for oversized tires then the BB might be the better way to go. There are a lot of people I've wheeled with who have done some pretty heavy wheeling on the BB. If you plan to wheel a lot then the coil springs are the way to go JMHO

I don't care much for looks, but more for offroad performance. Definitely going the coil route, just wondering if the Shocks which come with the Teraflex Coil kit are with the extra cost or if it would be better to invest in a different Shock.

Thanks for the replies.

I'm running the Bilstein 5100's and a lot the people I wheel with go that route. Recently, one of the guy's I wheel with went with the OME and he loves them. Haven't used the Tera Flex and I haven't heard much about them. If you go with the Bilstein's make sure they are valved for the JK cuz the ones off the shelf aren't. As for the Skyjackers, I had them on a truck years ago and didn't like them very much. Seems to heat up and thus pack up over short sections of wash boards but that was years ago and they could have improved by now.
