Tera30 Heavy Duty Axle Housing

It depends in how you look at it... its more coin then you think, if you already have a semi built D30 (gears, locker so on) The TERA30 has the same tubes as the TERA44 & 60 .. Much stronger then the stock 30 or 44 , the gussest are huge compared to stock 30/44.. I bought a TERA30 had my Detriot Trutrac, 5.13 gears, bought RCV axles and still came in 1500.00 cheaper then a PR44 with the same setup & I am running 37's
Yes I agree the ring & pinion is considered the weak point, the real weak point is the driver who hammers it down and spins & when the tires Grab it breaks stuff.. If you know your equipments limitations & they all have them! Drive reasonable & you will lower your chances greatly of breaking something.
I have been around alot of JK forums over the last 5 years and have only heard of a couple R & P failures (Both were neglect or Driver error) most commonly is U-joint failure/axle bends or open diff problems on the 30's.. It's very easy for everyone to spend your money & tell you to spend over 5k to get what they suggest , why not spend the extra 2k and get a D60 or alittle more for an D80 .. It never ends... Its great to have a vehicle thats is WAY more capable then the driver, but; it also gives you a false sense of security..
