Interesting product, but when you can get a new shaft for 4-500 i don't see how paying 150 for this makes sense, especially since new shafts aren't as wide, alleviating contact with the oil pan, and the factory shafts themselves are pretty weak and twisting/denting them isn't that uncommon

This replacement piece makes perfect sense for the weekend warrior. I drive mine 36k miles a year- all highway- and stock driveshafts are easy to come by. Apply this $150 fix and I'm set. My first set of shafts lasted 5 years, if I can get the same life with zero maintenance out of $150.....It would be a foolish move to pass that up. No vibes or angles to worry about and if I do twist a shaft up then it's an easy replacement.
I think what you meant to say is that it doesn't make sense for folks who have the need for the aftermarket provisions- like smaller diameter and trail replaceable pieces. I do not have that need.
