That weld is shit man. How a guy can do work like that and look himself in the face is beyond me. I would find a welder that knows what he is doing and have it re done.

Those bubbly formations are actually very brittle. I took a close look at it late last night....and sharp, cut my index finger on one of the "bubbles" as it crumbled away. Never again will I go to that shop for anything. Terrible. If you notice a 10mm bolt is missing as well.

There is a Jeeps for competition fabricator about 1.5 hours away from my house. I could go there just would have to plan out the logistics. Or I could "roll the dice!!" with someone else.

I was thinking of grinding away the lumpy formations myself and see what's underneath. I'm speculating the guy didn't even prep the surface and just hit it with the tip, powdercoat bubbled and melted underneath forming the gas bubbles you see...kinda like cooled lava.

I can solder electrical components so I'm trying to apply my knowledge there but I know nothing about how to weld.

Trying not to spend $100s of more dollars. Current TB is fine. Repairing weld may be cheaper. But opportunity now exists to strengthen the whole thing with a new TB, frame mount, etc..........

Weld is terrible. A good weld should b a consistent scalloped looking bead. Also needs to be hot enough to penetrate. That just looks like surface splatter.

It could be ground off with a grinder, cleaned up and re welded. I'd Definitly get another shop to do it though.

Take it back and confront their god awful workmanship. That's just disgusting and downright dangerous. Hopefully they haven't f'ed up the whole thing to the point where you need an entirely new, factory TB bracket. Wow.

Yeah, that shop just lost a customer with two thumbs...ME!

I think refusing to go there ever again is worse for them as they have lost any business I would have brought them with my own vehs and any other people I would have sent over there. They can keep the $40 as a F-U very much.

So I'm gonna try and get down to a offroad veh fabricator (about 60 miles away) and switch back to my stock pitman and maybe something like a JKS adj trackbar and get the bracket cutoff back down to stock.

I think most shops are only good for oil changes and regular rob you blind maintenance prodecures. Anything more complicated than that...just forget it.

The fabricator I want to go to is part time so hope to get in there. Wish me luck.

Looks more like the chicken did the welding...

Good luck on getting it fixed!
